SMPP API

This document is a brief guide to the steps you need to take when establishing an SMPP interconnection with the Rakuten Mobile SMS Service. It is assumed that you already have a firm knowledge and understanding of the SMPP protocol and this document makes no attempt to explain the workings of the protocol in any way. If you are not already familiar with the SMPP protocol and experienced in establishing interconnections, it is strongly suggested that you instead consider the HTTP/REST API.

Overview

This document provides technical details intended for software architects and developers who create Short Message Peer-to-Peer (SMPP) clients to integrate with Rakuten Mobile’s SMPP interface. This includes integration requirements, supported methods, bind types, authentication requirements, data coding schemes, timers, delivery reports, error codes, and other message details.
